New Covenant Church

O U R   M I S S I O N

Intercity despair grieves people caught in a web of hopelessness. The problems are many and great for the poor in spirit and the disadvantaged people who live in the Golden Isles of Georgia amid the marshes of Glynn County.

Our mission at New Covenant Church is to prove our faith by expressions of love in action. Through the commitment of church leadership, God’s people are taught and equipped for the work of the ministry. Together we obey the great commission by rescuing the perishing through sharing our faith in Jesus Christ.

The birth of New Covenant Church (NCC) began when one man’s heart cried out to God for the deliverance of needy people and God gave that man a vision. That man, Albert R. Armstrong, (commonly known as Brother or Pastor Al) was given a vision of a multi-ethnic ministry of restoration as recorded in Luke Chapter 4, verse 18 and 19. Having established weekly family Bible study in his home, Brother Al was approached by a host of family and friends who were hungry for the Word of God. As a result, in November of 1979, the Armstrong home was opened to neighborhood Bible study.
During the years of home fellowship, there was witnessed many healing’s, births into the Kingdom of God, miracles, deliverance’s, life transformations and answered prayers. The presence and the glory of God was experienced as we worshiped together.
The Bible study quickly gained the attention of the Christian Renewal Center (CRC) presbytery and was invited to become a home group under the auspices of CRC.
To culminate the completion of the ministry at CRC and the beginning of the new ministry, Brother Al was ordained by the eldership of CRC and he and his wife, Catherine, were sent forth to minister in a moving ceremony at CRC on November 5, 1989. On December 3, 1989, New Covenant Church had its first worship service at the “H” Street City of Brunswick Recreation Center in Brunswick, Georgia. Within two years, the ministry moved to its present church home.
Over the next 30 years, Pastors Catherine and Albert Armstrong raised many men and women to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to serve others. Among the men Pastor Al mentored and trained for ministry, he found a man who would soon become his predecessor, a spiritual son in whom he could trust with the responsibility of the vision and the care of the people of New Covenant Church. That man was Carlos L. Williams.
In August of 2017, Carlos Williams was ordained and installed as the new Senior Pastor of New Covenant Church. The ceremony, both anointed and inspiring, was officiated by Bishop B. Michael Burney, Sr., Founder and Overseer of Living Water Full Gospel Ministries in Macon, Georgia.
Pastor Carlos and his wife, Felicia, currently serve as full-time ministers at New Covenant Church. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the support of the congregation, Pastor Carlos and Felicia whole heartedly serve the people of God and their community with an excellent spirit. With humility, they proudly carry the banner of New Covenant Church into her next phase of ministry.
